January

The NZ Lily Society holds its main annual show at the beginning of January, and with so many lilies in flower at this time of year it is quite a spectacular event.

In the garden things are really blooming!

These pretty little Asiatic lilies look stunning in the greenery and amongst the blue flowers. The lily is Lilium davidii, another species lily.

L. dauricum
The full sun has made this lily a bit bleached looking in the photograph, whereas in fact, it is a rich orange colour.
